I kept seeing these beautiful photos taken from inside tents. The views were from the tops of mountains, looking out at other mountains, alpine lakes, views of the stars, of sunrises and sunsets.
At one point in my life I would have seen a photo like this and thought, “Gee, that looks like fun, too bad I can’t do that and be that badass.”
There is only one person who has ever told me I can’t do anything.
I love this person too. They are fun and imaginative, they love to laugh and are curious. So, why would they tell me I can’t do whatever I want to do?
Because the only person telling me I can’t do whatever I want is ME.
We encourage our friends, and our friends encourage us, so why do we not encourage OURSELVES? Why do we not choose to give ourselves permission to go after the things we want? Why do we not believe in ourselves?
Maybe you do go after the things you want, and maybe you do believe in yourself already. If you do, I’m so happy for you! I’m happy that you figured this out way before I did. If you’re figuring it out now, like I am, know that you CAN do whatever you want to do.
Know that you are enough.
Know that you will learn as you go.
Know that you can get out of your own way.
You will get out just as much as you put in, if not more. Don’t be afraid to ask questions, either. I’ve asked a million questions and will ask a million more about a million different things because I am driven to learn something new everyday. No one has ever judged me for asking a question. In fact, most people are excited to answer.
Because I asked a lot of questions, and because I kept trying and kept doing, now I look at these photos of views from tent doors and think, “I’ll go there someday.”
I hope MyTentDoor inspires and encourages you. Feel free to ask me questions, and share your stories and photos with me!
